Helmet Awareness Rally Held in Raigarh Under National Road Safety Month 2026
Raigarh, January 29, 2026:
With the objective of reducing road accidents and promoting responsible driving behavior, Raigarh Police is observing National Road Safety Month 2026 from January 1 to January 31 across the district. As part of this initiative, a Helmet Awareness Rally was organized on Thursday under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police, Raigarh, Shashi Mohan Singh.
The rally was led by DSP Sadhna Singh and witnessed active participation from women police officers and staff, along with members of the renowned women’s organization “Divya Shakti Raigarh.”
The event aimed to spread awareness among two-wheeler riders about the importance of wearing helmets and strictly following traffic rules.
The rally was flagged off from the Traffic Police Station premises by Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Anil Kumar Soni, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Shri Uttam Pratap Singh, and Mrs. Kavita Beriwal, representative of Divya Shakti Raigarh.
Covering major intersections and busy areas of the city, the rally concluded back at the traffic police station.
Participants carried traffic awareness placards and interacted directly with citizens, urging them to wear helmets, avoid overspeeding, and follow traffic regulations for their own safety.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional SP Anil Kumar Soni said that a helmet is not just a legal obligation but a vital protective gear that saves lives. He emphasized that head injuries remain the leading cause of death in road accidents and that wearing a standard helmet significantly reduces the risk of fatal injuries. He also reiterated that both riders and pillion riders must wear helmets while traveling on two-wheelers.
SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, while appealing to the public, stated that a moment of negligence on the road can result in irreversible loss for families. He urged citizens to always wear helmets, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, refrain from overspeeding, and make road safety a personal responsibility.
A large number of citizens, women police personnel, and members of Divya Shakti Raigarh participated in the rally and collectively pledged to follow traffic rules and promote road safety awareness in society.
